Mary Madigan has led the advancement of music performance, artists, and post-classical repertoire from positions at Boosey & Hawkes, Meet The Composer, Concert Artists Guild, The New School, the Vermont Mozart Festival, and her own business Madigan New Music. She is a colleague of many of new music’s creators, performers, and presenters throughout North America and Europe.

Mary’s attendance of the performing arts traverses genres and continents from the Bang On A Can Marathon, to the Settembre Musica festival in Turin; from the experimental theater of Elevator Repair Service, to Luciano Chessa’s avant-garde dan bao performance at an old Hollywood film house; from the Opéra de Lyon for the premiere of Pascal Dusapin’s Faustus, the Last Night, to Nick Cave’s The Let Go at the Park Avenue Armory.

The MATA Festival, Opera America, New Music Gathering, and The Aaron Copland Fund hosted Mary to serve on discussion and grant panels, and she led a public conversation with composer/clarinetist Kinan Azmeh at The Watermill Center on Eastern Long Island.

Madigan serves on the boards of Mantra Percussion and Gamelan Dharma Swara, for whom she led a successful fundraising campaign to acquire a new set of instruments from Bali, Indonesia.

Madigan is one of 25 international arts leaders selected for the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) Leadership Fellows Program (2018-2020).

Mary holds graduate certificates from Wesleyan University’s Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance and from the University of Pennsylvania/National Arts Strategies’s Executive Program in Arts & Culture Strategy.

Mary Madigan is a former trumpeter and choral singer now performing in a Balinese gamelan, playing tennis, enjoying the coast of Lake Champlain and the arts and culture offerings of New York City.
